This is a very interesting view of the different types of gun deaths, broken down.

Cluster of Daddy Longlegs (Harvestmen) - Ajijic, Mexico
I have always had an affinity for Daddy Longlegs, even before I was in Boy Scouts. I've never seen this behavior before. I think it's pretty neat, even though everyone else would get squigged out.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving ya'll.
Due to my job, I don't always get to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. I hope everyone out there gets to spend time with someone that they love, or at least someone that they appreciate.
Since I get to work, I'll have to settle for a phone call from my family later this evening. But it will work out.

Mark Steyn's Night of Terror
I did not get around to posting any more Halloween videos on time. Things got busy.
But, this one appeared in my news feed and it made me laugh. Enjoy!

Anime I've gotten around to watching so far.
I'm rather excited that they are now producing a second season of Seraph of the End. I was going through my Hulu watchlist and saw that there was a new episode last night! Normally I drop a series from my Hulu watchlist once I've seen it, but I kept that one in hoping that I'd catch extra episodes.
I'm really hoping that they make a second season of Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend. It was a nice series without too much fan service. I didn't care too much abou the story line for Michiru. But I felt it portrayed high school relationships a bit more realistically, part no interest and part no clue. (Well, that was most of my experience anyways.)
Pretty much I'm only watching stuff on Hulu. I was watching Daredevil on Netflix but it's been difficult for me to fit in an hour long series due to my life being busy. Heck, I've had to take two days to watch some 30 minute series.
What all am I watching right now? I'm glad that The Awesomes is back for a third season. Not anime but it's a great series for those of us that grew up with Marvel and DC. Aoharu X Machinegun is actually a neat series, but my mind keeps wanting to relate it to paintball. Seiyu's Life is not grabbing me, but I love that I'm learning about Japanese Voice Actors. I think I just finished Overlord. Interesting concept about a person who gets stuck in a video game, but rather than the hero trying to get out of the game he is just trying to explore it. Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace is very interesting and it kept my attention but I'm almost at the end and it seems to be loosing it's story telling. I think I have one more episode to go to finish the series.
I've got a lot of other anime in my que, but I haven't gotten around to watching it as of yet. We'll see.

Johnny Optimism: Jello
I forgot to link the Johnny Optimism comic that I partially inspired.
Johnny Optimism: Jello
Long story short, I made a comment that I'd been at a kids birthday party and one of the adults thought it would be a good idea to bring jello shots for the other adults. Of course some of the kids saw jello and went after them. Fortunately someone stopped it before any damage was done.
I've noticed a number of Jarlsberg's comics that I've inspired tend to have Tickles in them. That's starting to spook me.

The invasion of the pumpkin spice products.
Fall is coming. And thus all the stores are bringing out their "Pumpkin Spice" treats.
I used to love all the fall foods. I even enjoyed the pumpkin spice treats. But now they have become a "thing" and I don't appreciate it so much. Also, I swear that they don't taste like they used to. They have that specific smell to them, but the taste is off.
For example, Wawa used to do a pumpkin spice something-or-other that came out of one of the machines. Originally I loved the taste, but somehow they changed the formula. I stopped drinking it about three or four years back because the taste turned me off. They are not stupid, they are changing the taste in order to get millions of dollars. If I don't like it, well I'm not the one that they are making millions off of.
I do like fall. Apples are a big thing around here, but no one makes real apple cider any more. It is all mass produced junk. Growing up in a farming environment spoiled me as to what real food is. Now all the food has to pass inspections and be FDA compliant and all that. Yes, some of it is a good thing but I miss what I used to have.

A month and a half without a post?
Things have been very busy on my end. Very busy. I'm not getting much accomplished in my hobbies or job.
But I've got a very happy home life. I've been making a lot of blueberry pancakes recently. That makes me happy. That makes Adorable Preciousness happy. The wife tolerates them. It's all good.

Mon Coeur Se Recommande À Vous - Owain Phyfe - Voice & Vihuela
Owain Phyfe was a beautiful musician. I first heard his music on Renradio. I was intrigued by the sound of his music, even though I was a bit frustrated because I didn't understand the words. (This was back in the olden ages of the internet, and the music wasn't always identified.)
I found him by accident playing at the North Carolina Renaissance Faire. (Now defunct, I believe.) I was in love... with his music. I bought some of his tapes (CD players were very expensive back then.) I actually planned out some of my RenFaire trips just to catch him when he was playing at certain faires.
Owain passed away from cancer just over two years ago. Please go to Nightwatch Recording and buy his "new" album, "Voice & Vihuela."
On an aside, I need to get some cash scraped together to pick up the last few CD's by Cantiga that I don't own yet. I had always planned on buying them when I saw them in person, but I have not seen them in person for a few years.

Very interesting incident out of Alabama.
First, read here. Alabama police officer handcuffed, Maced fellow officer in front of confused Mayor.
The follow up is here. Lipscomb cop fired after handcuffing, Macing fellow officer in front of shocked Mayor.
I'm glad to hear that there are more agencies and local governments more fouled up than the one I work for. It's depressing to say that it makes me feel better about my job.

Dead blogs.
Life has been busy. Very busy. But I'll address that later down the line if anyone inquires.
There are a lot of blogs out there that are no longer updated. I still find myself going back to blogs that have not been updated in years.
Does anyone else do this?
I know that they may never see another update, but I keep checking because the writing was that good.
Every so often I'll post a comment on a "dead" blog and I'll get a response. The writer will be jolted back into writing or at least they will answer my post. It's interesting.

This.
The Loadout Room: How pistol marksmanship training teaches trigger jerk
I shoot low. They call it anticipation. This points out head droop.

Stag Arms neglected to put serial numbers on important gun parts.
Quite an interesting read.
Feds seek to keep assault rifle parts that were seized.
Apparently, Stag Arms (made famous by their left handed AR, and kept relevant by their quality craftsmanship) screwed up and had a stock of firearms parts that had not been engraved with a serial number.
Per the article, there was blame to go around. First off apparently the person who was supposed to do the engraving was on vacation. That was one heck of a vacation for such a backlog to develop. Second excuse was that they kept some items un-engraved in case there was a screw up and they needed to replace a part. That is a big ATF no no!
Apparently the government wants to keep some of the items for government use. I'd assume that the lawyers can argue something about the 4th amendment that the courts have poked holes through and therefore it would be a useless argument unless it got up to the Supreme Court.
Well, read the article for yourself. Come to your own conclusions. It's better that way.

I should post something.
I'm thinking that I should post something.
But I'm tired. I've worked a full day, and I've got to work another full day in just a few hours.
Really, I've got no excuse to be on the computer. I just wanted to check my bank statement. Blah.

ADD sucks.
I am... easily distracted. If I have work to do, I have to focus on getting the job done. This is not really a bad thing, but it makes it hard if more tasks are thrown at me while I am doing the first task. If I can do the second task after the first task, that is fine. But often that is not the case.
Especially when my wife is involved.
I'm washing the dishes, and then my wife gets upset because there are clothes in the dryer. I pull the clothes from the dryer, but before I can fold them and put them away my wife is upset because one of the feline terrors has pooped outside of the litter box. I'm trying to clean that up and then change the litter boxes and then adorable preciousness comes to "help." Dishes are not clean, clothes are stuck to the side in a basket, and there is a huge mess for me to clean up. All the while my wife is getting madder because things are just getting worse and there is more work that she sees that I need to do. AUGH!
If I can plan ahead, I can multitask. This makes me seem brilliant when I'm at work. I am conducting around chaos like some sort of maestro, and my fellow officers are in awe of me. Certain brass, being full of brown stuff (knocking an officer of their pedestal keeps us at the bottom of the raise scale if we actually get a raise, which we effectively have not since 2008) often give me multiple tasks to complete in opposite areas. They then gig me for "not being able to multitask."
Oh my, what do you know. Another interruption. Let me leave this post unfinished.

Green Tip ammo ban.
I don't have all that much play money. I do what I can to save up and purchase what I can afford. Unfortunately, the play money pot is raided every time there is an emergency. But that is another story for another time.
For the past year, I've been focusing on purchasing more ammo so that I could practice more. (I've also spent some money on some more firearms, but that goes without saying.) So I've had every thing planned out on what I'll purchase and when I'd approximately have the money.
So, in February I had planned on making a large purchase of 5.56 ammo. Just a few days before I was to get the final bit of money together there was the announcement that the ATF was taking action on the Green Tip 5.56 ammo. Even Walmart jacked up their prices on 5.56. I couldn't afford it at a reasonable price, so I just didn't bother. I did use a portion of the money for pistol ammo, and the other portion was used to douse a family emergency.
Today the ATF announced that they were going to review their policy. Maybe ammo prices will go down. But I'm sure that the prices will stay stupid for a few months anyways. It's not like I've had any luck finding time to go to the range this year so far, so I should not stress.

I finally watched Disney's "The Little Mermaid."
I have finally gotten around to watching "The Little Mermaid."
I stand corrected. The official title is "Ariel" according to Adorable Preciousness.
When "The Little Mermaid" came out, I was a bit old for Disney movies. I went through a period where I didn't see any Disney movies what so ever... Until I was in college. I did get to see "The Lion King" played at the school theater, third run. The girl I was seeing at the time wanted to go, which was the only reason I saw the movie.
It was interesting to watch a Disney movie with college age students. I had never seen the movie before, and I was surprised by the part where Simba's dad was killed. Along with another female student who screamed so loud and then the whole theater laughed.
And I took dates to "Toy Story" and "Monster's Inc." Now, my wife was a big Disney fan. I borrowed a lot of her DVD's and watched a bunch of Disney movies. And I've taken her to see a bunch of Disney Films. But I haven't seen all of them.
It was kind of neat to see "The Little Mermaid" for the first time. My wife was singing the songs and explaining about different characters and whom she had seen the movie with and which scene was each of her friends favorites.
It was kind of neat.

The Firefly Time-Lapse
Pretty neat. Time lapse photography of fireflies. Some of the special effects get annoying, but it is very nice.
